Let The Heavens Declare!

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
~Psalms 19:1

When the world feels upside down, I like to look up. The sky is an ever changing canvas, from night to day, from season to season. A multi-colored canvas painted with dramatic compositions and vistas as a constant reminder of the glory of God, the creator.

It’s A Dog’s Life

DOGS — Big one, little ones, pure bred, mixed breed, fat, skinny, fluffy, fast or slow. I haven’t met one I didn’t like yet. I have two of my own — a red heeler mix cattle dog and a mini-schnauzer. They make quite the pair. Not a day in my life goes by that they don’t brighten it up in one way or another. If you are a dog lover, I know that you know exactly what I mean by that.

Dogs are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. To learn more about my “petography” sessions, contact me with the form below for more information. Let’s take a walk in the park (or your back yard) and create some CRAZY BEAUTIFUL images of you and your BEST FRIEND for memories you will treasure for many years.

Here are some samples of my work for you to browse and enjoy.

Honeybee And Flowers

Honeybee And Flowers in February?

Thinking about honeybees and flowers in February. It’s wet, gray and gloomy this week in February. Never the less though, I’m thinking of summer and the return of the delicate flowers and busy honeybees.

I’ve been working on my fine art galleries, and this is one of my newest creations. I photographed this beautiful penstemon (also known as beardtongue) flower in the all-volunteer Master Gardener’s demonstration garden early last summer. The garden is located in Kennewick, WA.

I’ve treated the image with a bold brush stroke texture to enhance the vibrant color and details of the original photo.

This pretty little honeybee is available as a fine art print in my Etsy shop, and you can get there by simply clicking on the image.

Enjoy the Little Things in Life

Meet Mr. Snakefly. He showed up in my flowerbed of pink dianthus the other day, and very kindly posed for my camera for quite some time. If you see one of these guys in your yard or garden, treat him kindly, as he is one of the “good guys” in the world of bugs. He is predatory in the larvae and in the adult stages, which means he likes to eat aphids and other destructive insects in your garden. Here’s some more interesting information with facts you may not have known about this interesting little creature.

Make each day a new discovery

And just look what I discovered yesterday! A cute and very tiny katydid nymph enjoying a moment in the sun. I noticed him sitting on a green tomato leaf in my garden. The poor little guy looks like he’s lost half of an antennae, but that didn’t seem to phase him a bit. He has a very funny and cute way of walking with those gangly (and hairy) legs.
